X Avant XVII: LifeWorld Night 4: Big Family House Party Oct 15 The Music Gallery

X Avant XVII: Big Family House Party

Concert , Multimedia , Performance in X Avant XVII: LifeWorld Series

The entire Music Gallery transformed to the family house party of your dreams with multiple rooms, video & art installation, music at every corner.

For our biggest event of X Avant XVII: LifeWorld, we team up with Lula Lounge and Labyrinth Ontario to transform the entire 918 Bathurst venue into a family house party with multiple levels and rooms, free food, music at every corner, and art installations. Various interior designers will be decorating the space to resemble an “outdoor barbecue at grandma’s house,” evoking  feelings that recall memories of family gatherings both vivid and fleeting.

In the main hall, bands featured include 5-piece band that does latin jazz/ contemporary spin JER and NPNP Trio, with acoustic pieces from Labyrinth Ontario and Rick Sacks. In our Gallery Room and basement, DJs play styles of music that are reminiscent of their family experiences, Labyrinth performs pieces inspired by Persian classic records and Chinese pop music, and Halpo brings us fun party tunes. olasconola dive deep into her crates to play a set reminiscent of her family’s story, while Ciel closes the night with a set of big tracks to dance to. We also look forward to hosting works by April Aliermo and Victoria Fard for another night.
