The Music Gallery is proud to announce the nineteenth edition of our X Avant Festival series, titled X Avant XIX: Texture, taking place from October 15-19, 2024. X Avant XIX: Texture explores how distinct sound layers interact in both opposition and in harmony with one another, representing both body and sparseness in a composition. Offering a multidisciplinary approach to music making, this theme not only offers a vast creative playground for exploration but also provides conceptual space to delve into the multifaceted ways in which texture, both musically and in the literal sense, can impact the work of artists. This 5-day festival is filled with thoughtful approaches to music, heritage, and ways that texture, textile, and text can impact the ways we musically translate past, present and future.
