It is fitting that this year’s X Avant theme was “Forward”, which essentially asks “what’s next?” How do artists take the next step in their careers? What does that look like? Why is there an obsession with progress as applied to arts?" Each of the headliners in the festival presented their own version of forward thinking as they take the next step in their artistic practices.
