The Music Gallery Presents
History Series: Celebrating Casey Sokol

PWYW

Last August, professor and Music Gallery co-founder  Casey Sokol published a Facebook post listing hundreds of students he’d taught how to improvise over his nearly 50 year tenure at York University. It was an amazing journey through scores of creative individuals from wildly diverse backgrounds, all of whom sought to discover their personal musical vocabulary through his guidance. This evening pays tribute to the incredible influence of one of the greatest teachers of improvisation that Canada has ever produced, as he retires. Come celebrate this special individual with this part improvised soiree/part interview with nibbles and drinks to set the tone.
