What Is: Spirituality
As Connection
Sound buzzes around the venue, crawls up the walls, and explores sonic movement.
Sound is a sensory object. We use its waves, frequencies, particles to explore our bodies, unlock memories, and learn about what it means to be human.
Kicking off our first day of programming, sound is explored in three parts. The first, a vibrotactile sound installation created by Leon Louder in partnership with VibraFusionLab. This multi-day installation brings the Montreal Insectarium to life, with whirring sounds that can be felt and heard.
In the main hall ASMR and hypnosis artist Erin Gee explore the subtleties of music and sensation in her performance. This is followed by Oakland based artist, Amma Ateria who will be presenting a neurological-centered, psycho acoustic performance titled CONCUSSSSION, a work created to help herself heal from a life altering injury.
