Marketing Coordinator Position, Basic Information:
- Part time: 18 hours per week
- Compensation: $23 per hour

- Ideal start: early February
- Location: Hybrid (roughly 95% remote, 5% in person)
- Administrative work is primarily remote.
- Event activities are based in Toronto (primarily at 918 Bathurst)
The Music Gallery has been at the centre of experimental music and community-building in Toronto for nearly 50 years. We program a variety of concerts, festivals, workshops, and residencies each season, and welcome thousands of participants.
As the Marketing Coordinator you would work closely with the staff team to share event and artist information across numerous platforms, shape the Music Gallery story, and build the community that is aware of and participating in our programming. You channel the voice of the Music Gallery and can bring creative and playful approaches to promotion, all while developing your own skills in the role.
The Music Gallery intersects with many genres and histories, and as the Marketing Coordinator you would help to tailor campaigns for each program, and provide insights and context to community members before, during, and after events.
Responsibilities:
- Devise, implement and evaluate promotional campaigns
- Consult with Artistic Director, collaborate with Graphic Designer
- Maintain social media calendar to ensure consistent posting schedule
- Conduct media outreach
- Content management:
- Music Gallery site: maintain appearance, update and style event information, news posts, ticketing pages
- Social media: Posting to Instagram, Facebook, Linktree, other accounts as required, and responding to followers’ inquiries.
- Event Listings: submitting event details
- Email campaigns: create and schedule campaigns, manage mailing lists
- Promotional copy: draft and edit promotional text
- Promotional partnerships and marketing exchanges
- Manage ad buys, in consultation with the Executive Director
- Support membership and donor communications, updates
- Creative solutions: develop and implement new marketing strategies
- Participate in administrative/planning discussions as required

- Strong writing and editing skills
- Project management experience
- Relationship-building
- Committed to ongoing learning regarding anti-racism, anti-oppression, safer spaces, accessibility
- Experience with:
- WordPress or similar content management systems
- Mailchimp
- Ticketing services (Showclix)
- Team management tools (Slack, Asana)
- Google Suite (Email, Google Drive, Google Documents)
