Sound Art Workshop with Christopher Willes & Akash Bansal

WHAT

The Music Gallery is seeking youth artists to participate in an experimental music and sound-art workshop organized by Christopher Willes, in collaboration with artist/DJ Akash Bansal. The fourth in a series of workshops that have been staged in partnership with the Toronto Public Library, participants will collectively remix rare vinyl records from the Reference Library’s vinyl record collection and create new sonic artwork together.

The result of their process will be shared in a sound performance/installation presented at the Music Gallery on October 11th as part of the X-Avant Festival

We are seeking youth artists to participate, approximately 15-22 years old. Participants should have a keen interest in electronic and experimental music, and/or collaborative, interdisciplinary, and experimental forms of art making. A formal background in music or proficiency with a musical instrument is not required.
