Radio MG Call for Mixes
March 5, 2026

We’re inviting community members to curate playlists/mixes for What Is this spring.
When we program a playlist at the Music Gallery, we know that a well-crafted mix can draw connections between artists, styles, and histories, and set the stage for deep listening and engaging with a performance. We want community members to submit existing or proposed playlists for inclusion during our upcoming What Is festival in May.
Submission requirements:
- Choose between one of these themes:
- Rebellious – sounds and artists who carve their own path
- Techy – sounds that heavily rely on technology
- Genreless – sounds that require more than 3 adjectives to describe
- Show us what you’re thinking, you can either:
- Provide 10 minutes of audio from a pre-existing mix, or a compilation of songs up to 10 minutes that represent the vibe of ONE of the prompts from above. Only submit tracks via YouTube, SoundCloud, or Bandcamp. DO NOT submit songs via Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, or any other subscription-based streaming services as we will not be able to playback your selection; or,
- Submit a pre-recorded mix* of yours that matches this vibe. DO NOT make a new mix for these prompts.
- Submit a written description (600 characters max) about your thoughts behind your submission. Feel free to get creative here in your explanation. Describing why music is amazing is incredibly hard!
*If you are providing something longer than 10 minutes, please provide a timestamp where we should begin listening.
Use the submission form below to submit your proposal. There is a limit of one submission per person.
Scope: The Music Gallery will select 3-5 playlists to be featured during our What Festival.
