‘Do Easy’: Vinyl Interventions for the Relaxed DJ

Workshop

What does it mean to be a vinyl DJ in 2025? More or less the same thing it has since the Technics 1200 MkII turntable was invented in 1979.

In this workshop, Destiny will demonstrate how the mechanics of these beloved direct drive turntables and vinyl records themselves loan a fluidity to the human operator. Vinyl DJing can be elevated to a pseudo-mystical exercise of intuition, muscle memory and telekinetic channeling. It is a craft that rewards the flow state, discourages tolerance for nervous energy and in which the discs themselves become conduits of some of the best kinds of shared human energetic experience: joy, togetherness, ecstasy, release, trust and transformation.

This workshop covers techniques of open listening and mixing from a vast array of genres to put together sounds that feel uniquely you.
