You In Mind Returns for 2022-23

News

This season, we launched our five-part You in Mind series with an open call for applications. With nearly 150 applications, we knew we had to keep it going.

You in Mind is a concert series dedicated to artistic growth and celebration. For our 2022-23 season, the Music Gallery will be hosting a series of 3 concerts (fall and spring) dedicated to artists whose projects or organizations are not supported by public funding or otherwise do not have the means to present in venues of our scale.

As always, the Music Gallery places few boundaries around what “experimental” music is and encourages submissions and/or nominations for artists who wish to expand their musical palettes. Do you have a concept you want to develop but have never had the opportunity? Ideas that don’t fit into your typical practice which could benefit from additional resources? A space to perform out loud, or a musical notion so seemingly “out-there” you’d never be able to pull off in front of your usual audience? This is what we have in mind for You In Mind.

Successful Applicants Receive:

The applicant should detail an idea for presenting a 1- 1.5 hour concert that they might only be able to pull off within the creative confines of the Music Gallery. The Music Gallery’s Artistic Advisory Council will assess the submissions and select from among them.

*This application is just for our first edition/ YIM #1. This edition prioritizes Indigenous applicants*

Submission form can be found here.

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to sanjeet@musicgallery.org.
