Toronto, Ontario – The Music Gallery announces the departure of Executive Director Monica Pearce, who has announced her intention to step down from her role, effective June 2018 (specific date to be determined).
The Board of Directors will be activating a public search to replace Monica, with intentions to fill the role in June.
Monica joined the Music Gallery in October 2013 and has played a critical role in solidifying the operational and financial functions of the organization. Monica’s leadership has been instrumental in key initiatives such as deficit reduction, development of the Music Gallery’s Strategic Plan, introduction of a revamped website, and the formulation of the partnership with the 918 Bathurst Centre for Culture, Arts, Media and Entertainment. She will be entering an exciting new phase of her life as she relocates to the United States to be with her fiancé and explore new career pursuits.
“Monica will be missed,” said Dave Darby, President of the Board. “We are sad to see her go but we’re very grateful for her contribution to the Music Gallery and we share in her excitement for her new adventure. We wish her much happiness and success in her impending marriage and future endeavours.”
“It’s been my distinct privilege to have served as Executive Director of the Music Gallery over these last almost five years”, said Monica. “The opportunity to work with such a creative, talented team has been a pleasure, and it’s been a singular honour to support David Dacks’ artistic curation, which has really shaped the organization’s adventurous direction. While I’m moving on to start my next chapter, I will always have the Music Gallery close to my heart.”
The Executive Director job posting can be found on the Music Gallery website.
