The Bernardo Padrón Group offers a universal musical experience through the group's personal compositional voice. Share a unique journey with original works that provide a contemporary sonic context, inspired by Latin American folk culture and serve as the point of departure for the improvisational flights of these creative performers. On this occasion, the group will present highlights of their last CD recording, Tales of La Juana, as well as several new compositions.
Led by Venezuelan-born saxophonist and composer Bernardo Padrón, the BGP harnesses the talents of an award-winning line-up of some of Canada's most sought-after jazz and world music artists. Padrón’s original compositions are at once a richly complex exploration of Venezuelan folkloric tradition, and an engagingly accessible contemporary jazz experience. With his acclaimed 2007 CD, Tales of La Juana, Padrón has firmly established himself as one of this country's most innovative and exciting global-jazz voices.
