The most glorious, beautiful, and the greatest moments will last forever and are the only true meaning of our lives. The Universal Moment believe that it is not just music that they write: their songs are pieces of artwork created with their beautiful ideology. Their music is strong, heart-touching, meaningful, and beautiful: their music is written for them to realize and to make people realize the universal moment.
The founding members, Yu and Sebastian, are brothers originally from Tokyo, Japan. They have such a unique background, as their family moved around the world since they were little. They were raised in many different places, such as Brussels, Belgium, London, U.K., L.A., California, Houston, Texas, Toronto, Ontario and Tokyo, Japan, constantly being exposed to the cultural diversities and versatilities of the world. Their such unique experiences and background are still the biggest influences to them. Sometimes, their music reminds you of Paris, and other times, it takes you to L.A.. Ting, who soon joined the band, also grew up in several different countries such as Australia, Canada and Taiwan. The brothers have known Ting for more than a decade, after meeting him in high school that they went together in Toronto. They kept creating music together for as long.
The Universal Moment's first live performance goes back to January, 2008. They presented an event at Kathedral in Toronto, collecting over a hundred people to the show by just themselves, leaving a great impression on the audience. However, even though the members were eager to work on the project, they needed to spend a year to actually get to start working on the first album, "The Reminder", because of the difficulties and obstacles, such as band members living far away from each other and such, that they had to overcome.
In year 2009, the band members were able to reunite in Tokyo, Japan and finally recorded the first album, "The Reminder". The CD was released in November in Toronto, Ontario, and is soon to be available on-line in year 2010. They ran their own night at one of the most spectacular and well-known venues, The Opera House, on November 26, 2009 to film their live performance on tape. They are looking to do more shows in year 2010 in North America to get their music heard by a much larger population.
